I think “loha hi lohey ko kattha hai”, so be there in the corruption to learn the tricks of the trade but maintain your individuality, and when the time comes strike once, strike hard.
Use shrewdness to the shrewd. Days of being Ram are not there any more, but be Krishna to establish Dharma, righteousness.

I dont think “elections should not be there” is a solution for this problem. People must be educated especially rural people and already educated so called CITY people must get their asses out there to polling stations and vote.

I would say … make people realise that what they are doing is wrong. ppl in other countries would not talk to their neighbour if they knew he was corrupt. Such kind of social behaviour alone can stop this. I know its easier said than done, but its worth a try.
And most imp, ask yourself, AM I IN ANY SENSE PART OF THIS. I remember in that movie, the rich guy himself gave money to a policeman when he was shooing them off the dam hangout area … then he has no right to go and kill his dad .. he is wrong in doing that.

I agree with you man. its entirely true. but u have to understand that earlier he had a different feel of the country. only after madhavan had died in the accident and his mother in coma changed the things and made him realise that he and his friends have to do something abt it.
see the movie by the whole will miss some elements as it has only 3 hrs to narrate everything. some things have to be understood.

Only way is to educate people and participate actively in politics and administration. Killing doesn’t solve anything.

hi im krishna guys wha i think is at this stage every one has to realsie thethings as some no politics i dnt think its a good idea educating people will be the first thing that has to be done impotance ofpolitics has to be thought as every one us knows still poltics are still afffetced by the religion acst bla bla so that has sorted as every one of us knows all our indians are great partiots and every wish to do some thing to make our mother land proud but every one has their commitments so thats one main reason most of us cant contribute to anything what we really think of.
its nt just public that ahs to realise but its the politicians that has to realise the fact what are they doing and why? if they can change the way their ideaology is bcoz if they change and makes the rules better, then defienetely things will change.

Hey I don’t think the movie was preaching the young guns of today to go ahead and take law into their own hands… The movie was not preaching it was only showing us the actions taken by a few carefree college students who were affected enough to go through the vast change in their lives… As Sidharth himself says in the end that join politics and help clean up the system… What was shown in the movie was mere helplessness… Now it is for us to decide what actions to take… Recently I read a news article of a group of IIT students forming a political party.. If it is true then it is a good sign.. Because there are very few educated people who involve themselves in politics for the nations good… But it is easier for us to expect others to do the cleaning up act and restrict ourselves to the comfort we live in and bear whatever little difficulties we face… Very true for me too…

Hello all,
i think you (students) shd take politics into your hands! form a new party and win the heart of the people so that they can chose you as their representatives and to serve the country in that way power and money will be in your hands. it is not that easy as posting a comment though! i think this is the best way to change india! Ram rajya can be formed again if every one is like people of ram rajya and no one is born bad guy! if our representatives are bad ofcourse the people will also be bad coz yadha RAJA tadha PRAJA….
anyways as i said posting message is simple! students should really think about what is the message of “RANG DE BANSANTHI”
what i understood is : though we have freedom it is of no use! people faught with British for freedom in those days and now fighting with own people. there is no much difference in fighting with british or our own. thats what is shown in RANG DE BASANTHI one shd really feel ashamed of todays politicians and so, students shd take the power!
students who really want INDIA to be the peacful and the corruption free Country.

Education is Must. Its acceptable tat an IIM or IIT student performs well. So the same, an IIM or IIT or Civil Services or Highly qualified person who wins the Heart of people in election can perfrom well.As they proved they are hardworking, intelligent, dedicated and support from the people. But Self Realization is important to overcome the corruption, Partiality etc. So i feel a young party should emerg with these talented people. P.Chidambaram, FM, holds B.Sc,B.L,MBA, and alumni of Madras University,Harvard Univ, and Cambridge Univ. This qualification gives the people confidence and trust far better than some one like Bihar main politician.

Rang de Basanti is obviously just a movie.. but it can hecka be tied to real life also. The thing i liked most about it is that it’s really modern and yet, it shows young people in India and America what the Indian freedom fighters went through. I believe it is wrong of people to take law into their own hands, because if an equal society is to be created, individual rights must be given up to some extent. As to the last question, joining politics is the right thing to do for those of you out there who care. I do care about the level of corruption in India, adn something obviously has to be done about it. After I watched Rang De Basanti, I felt very patriotic, and I wanted to fly to INdia at that moment and make a difference. I realized that one person can definetly make all the difference. It’s up to the young generation to make changes. This movie can be taken very lightly or you can look deeper into it to find the meaning it has to you.

I accept like the others said that it is just a movie, but there is a fact which cannot be denied. That is corrupted politicians.
In my opinion there should be an eligibility criteria to be a minister or what so ever. Just think, a doctor has to pass through entrance tests, an engineer, IAS officer, Chartered Accountant every single position. Even a nursery student to get an admission into a good school has to pass through tests, then why no politicians?? Agreed earlier days there were few illiterates hence any person who had the thrive to serve the nation was eligible candidate. But I do not think that is applicable now. We have seen some examples as an outcome of this (Rabri Devi ji).
I think there should be a basic qualification to be eligible, and an entrance test that any person who wants to be minister has to pass through. And then his strategies has to be understood and accepted by a panel of people comprised of judges and IAS officers. Any person who passes through this will be given an opportunity to contest at the place he has chosen. Based on the votes that he gets he will be a minister. If any of his strategies that he proposed are not followed he will be expelled from his position.
I have no idea about complete politics but something of such has to come up so that every educated person will get their asses out there to polling stations and vote. I am around 30 and I never voted in my entire life. Not because I dint want to, just becuase dint know whom to vote. Everyone are the same, none is complete and worth to be voted.

‘Rang De basanti’ a totally misleading movie. All the roles should be safely recycled in some plant where they do not cause any more harm.
Not expected form such a good moviestar after diamond pieces like Laggan and Rising

The country calls for a revolution. we have incompetent people all through the political spectrum . ppl who abuse the system and rape Mother India. patriots must take it upon themselves to form local ‘cleaning cells’ and carry out missions to assasinate corrupt politicians, but for Gods sake do not kill them all at once , coz instability is the last thing we need. Once it is known that corruption = death , India will change for the better. Jai Hind!

The main culprits behind all this is we. We are the people who encourage this only for a reason to get our work done in no time. Our politics is not transperent. What happenes in the government offices and what are the rules and regulations basic defintions of work and positions are hardly known. There is no direct approach in our politics no direct medium to interact with politicians, what you find are middlemen who indulge in corruption on the name of politicians.
Anonymous | Jun 17, 2006 | Reply
firstly indian politics and da politicians are like that…so there should be some revolutionary change which may bring change among those politicians who are corrupted …RANG DE BASANTI does not mean that we hav to take law in to our hands its like showing the future to the corrupted politicians…it means that no corrupted politician have right to sell INDIA for their profit……

Hi All, this is Swetha. i feel that every one is responsible on our country positon. we shouldnt blame only poiliticians. there is pollution in almost all the fields. dont u think so.
Atleast the movies like “Rang
De Basanti” make some ppl to think about our country atleast for few minutes. now a days no one is worried about our country every one is becoming selfish. every one wants to settle in life and enjoy it. but no one wants to take the responsibility of our country. as the director showed in the first half movie.
if we follow the law as it is then i believe atleast we can change upto five percent. Nothing is gng to change with in a day or week. Just follow the law. and lets do our responsibility.
its not that only politics can change the life of our country. Every person is responsible for it. If u can help to educate poor people thats the gr8 thing u r doing to ur country no need of doing any gr8 things like they showed in rang de basanti.
we can start with doing samll small things. for sure it will reflect to our country.

wass up guys, iam chanti.
Rang De Basanti is just a movie reflecting a very small face of a large picture of our country. i agree that politics is corrupt in india but where is it not? every one says students should get into politics nd cleanse the system. even i have heard of the IIT guys starting a party to get into politics. but as everyone thinks politics is not just a matter of ethics. what will an ethical minister do if he doesnt know his people. electing some IIT ians into electoral system is not the solution.
how many of the students who talk about clean politics actually do some service to the community. how many of us have ever visited an orphanage to help the orphans. how many of us have ever visited an old age home. how many of us has fed a hungry old guy on the streets.
i dont say that one should donate money to charities because not everyone is rich enough to donate money. there are other ways to serve the society. have you ever donated blood???
i think and request everyone to start serving the communtiy first, help people around you, educate yourself nd others, then you will know what are the problems of the society.
knowing by service is the real criteria to join politics not a degree from an IIT or a entrance exam as some others are suggesting. why is no one motivated enough to join politics? because none of them have ever done any service to our society. when we start doing service to the community then we will automatically feel the necessity to get into politics only such people are eligible to join politics. such people may not know to speak good english may not have degrees but they have the heart to serve nd the brains to think about our country.
i request everyone to look around you and start helping others. if we want to help there are thousands awaiting us. that is how we will love our country more.

i want to agree with chanti. first of all we should not be selfish for ourselves.from many decades many people are just livingand working hard only to increase thier properties so that they and their later generations live happily and luxuriosly.i think there should be a property limit which should be kept in mind by every rich person they should spend atleast 5%of their extra income.each and every stage of person should spend some money and time according to their financial stage to the society development, this can bring awareness in every persons mind to help the socity automatically socity will change with this helpfullness nature.

Come on lads, Half of you here need to watch the movie again To see what its all about and the rest half had made very good comments(sorry not taking names here)
About the movie it will remain to be one of my all time favs and about the message the movie is passing i got it right but unfortunately like many individuals i am a selfish human i need to concentrate on my career. But what i would want to say is that if we indians do atleast what we can to change our country it be great help.
Nothing closer to IAS karengey, IPS join karengey, Army join Karengey, Politics join Karengey aur desh ki sarkar chalayingey. none of it just be yourselves and spread your views dont miss any chance you get, to talk about wrong in india. just remember what we have been taught even before these movies were made
Simple things like
Racism is inhuman
Caste system is piece of crap
Religion is not for you to fight among yourselves.
Corruption doest get the country too much of success.
All politicians are elected so you can play your part in changing peoples ideas as to who is good who is not.
Last but not least Speak up against everything wrong happening in the country atleast in form of blogs……….We know we cant change the country in a fortnight but atleast we can try to play our tiny bit towards its change as most of us know its changing already.

hi i harjit ,as i neverever see this movie ,but when i think about above debet than, i can say that we peupole should take our india in our hand, beacuse today politics is like the very expensive game ,so we canot belive on politician that these politician will improme our india ,so we peuple come in front and vote only that person who is really capabel of taking this responsiblity,as well we know that 1 or1 is 2 but 1 or 1 is 11 also , keep this thing in our mind ,we should not forget that only one man can creait revaluation so be that man, now question is arising that how we can improve the image of ur india , we first make the peupole litreat, so that they can judge whats going on , beause we should know that more than 50% people are elitreat so when they wake up than there will be the begning of improvement ,what ever be the way which was adapted in the movies to improve india image is not corect beacuse if we peuple take all things in our hand than grph of crime will definetly increses, so i thing that there is lotes of destic in our india and i think that each distic has two or three real heroo, so these real heroo i think that they can change the image of india so JAI HIND
