Hi All, Whatever the competition sony TV has conducted its a pakka copy of American Idol. Simply they cannot copy somebodys style, also in USA every body watches the same channels and everybody speak same language. But in india concept is totally different, india has plenty of languages and people in on region watch local channels more than the regional channel. Also Sony has tie up with all the cell phone and other telephone companies, imagine how much money they must have earned with this competition…its just only money earning tactics, our indian fools just waste money for such things. Owner of sony company will earn money, they dont want to bring out the talent but they want to earn money, lets not be fools and dont ever watch such channels

Sony has done a terrible mistake, concept of voting is totally wrong..India has more than 1500 dialects and Everybody knew that very less of people of South India watch Hindi channels . Sony tried to promote their company name in the name of these two finalists. I feel Indian Idol crown doesnt have any value. I wish not to see the show again bcoz of biased decisions. As Javed Akhtar ji said , put the talented one in the right seat. I feel sorry that it didnt happen that way. I agree Jo Jeeta wohi sikander but jo hara woh bandar nahin hai. I am sure that Karunya will get more opportunities than Sandeep. Voting system is ridiculous, a vote shud be counted from one time from one phone, until you have such technology , dont ever consider about this kind of voting system. It is more like rigging in the polling booth.

Congratulations to Sandeep! Two main factors for his win– charming personality and public sympathy. We all know Karunya is the better singer of the two, but the judges’ constant favoritism for Karunya on the show and their stepchild-like treatment for Sandeep tilted the public sympathy in favor of Sandeep.
All in all, Indian Idol 2 was better than Idol 1 in terms of quality of singers. Sandeep, Karunya, Amey and Antara will have a great career irrespective of Idol result.

I don’t see Indian Idol so not in a position to say who was a better singer. However, from the comments above it seems that people are disappointed with results or only those people who are disappointed have posted. People from a particular region supporting a candidate from there own region is nothing more than people supporting sports team from their own region. Please try to understand that this is human nature and no one gains anything (except those involved in competition) from it this is purely emotional.

I was not much anxious for the results as Karunya for me was the obvious winner but I was soooo shocked to see on a site that Sandeep is the next IndianIdol2. When will the people of India change?It is so shame that there’s lot of state or regional feeling involved in voting adding to the stupidity of voting policy set by Sony TV. Karunya has a great personality, not just a good singer. Its just bad luck that we missed to make it happen.
But Karunya is the Indian Idol though no Award as he stole the heart of majority of people all over the world.
Karunya gave his best and did his homework well but i should say that the public did not do there duty.

I understand the disappointment shown by all the bloggers by not seeing Karunya as the Indian Idol. Even I felt Karunya was way better than Sandeep in terms of singing talent. Give Sandeep his due credit for his efforts. Lets not forget that this show is not the end of the world for Karunya. Everyone has noticed his talent and he sure will get his opportunities to be the star.
But lets not spoil the show by talking about a south north divide. Every show has its flaws. Lets learn to live with it and comment on improving the show than talking about a regional bias which is unwarranted. This is the biggest threat to our country than terrorism I guess.

You broke the entire excitement of watching the episodes by putting in the pic of Sandeep Acharya. Anyways, a good job done in putting up the videos promptly.
As to who should win and who not, I think the discussion above says it all. I felt desparate as I could not vote for Karunya from the US, but it has brought out the bogus way of selecting our so called “Idol”. Sandeep’s voice sucks and I felt even the previous Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant was horrendous in his performance during the finals. I mean, someone should tell Sony that they should stop playing with people’s feelings and look out for actual talent where people who understand music have their say. Also, things like dancing with Alisha etc was soooo sucky, the least they could have done was not to lipsing.
At last, I can only hope that Karunya makes it big in life.
It is the rush of votes. The judges should be given a chance to tell their decision.
Finally, Karunya should have been declared as Indian Idol 2.

The very fair reason why karunya lost is that India was quite sure that he was going to win, so no one bothered to vote for Karunya. But Sandeep who is from Bikaner got enormous vote from his home town. Karunya in one of the eposide also showed over confidence that he is going to gift his parents with the indian idol 2 award before even the result was announced.

One of my south-indian friends told me that one minister even banned Hindi from school..C’on with that much respect to your National language, you are going to get biased.

It is obvious that voting strategy is bad. Hope sony corrects it in the future as only one vote per person and also it would make more sense to make 50% of the decision making to made the next idol to technical judges and singers as it is for the next big singer competition
Everybody knows karunya is the best talent found so far on either of the indian idols and i am sure this is sonys loss not to crown him, maybe now he is free of contract obligations and will sign with big music directors like A.R Rahman, Anu Malik the judge and the rest…rightaway.. we would soon be buying one possibly in the next few monts..he is going to be one great singer for the years to come. I also think Amey Date deserves some new contracts as well. He is also one real talent found. Sandeep probably can sing lighter versions but the other two are more versalite in even classical music.

Don’t you think there is little fault of south indians too? Not knowing or learning our national language is not a fault? Who stopped you not to watch hindi programmes? Complete north india also has many other languages like gujrati, marathi, punjabi, bengali, assamese… When all these people can watch hindi programmes then why not south india. I am a south indian and definetely follow all the telugu and hindi programmes. South india includes not only AP but also karnataka, kerala and tamilnadu. Tell me how many of these know hindi and would like to follow them. guruginja sameta la undi idi antha. We do not have unity among ourselves. What a shame……. Probably Central government should pass some kind of rule that every indian should learn and english. Its good for them that they can survive anywhere they land up. May be sony made money out of this program but they also promoted these guys. Otherwise how many knew these guys to write these lengthy messages. The choice was given to you to choose the best guy, when you go out of your mind and vote for some non eligible person, I do not think they are to be blamed. But I accept as some of them said one vote from one mobile or land line for each person. Probably that would have been a best compromise that Sony or other cell phone guys can do.

There was not much support from south indian people for karunya. But karunya is the best performer…….when compares to sandeep. He has a plus point of good looking when compared to karunya and all the girls were like mad of him but not his talent….

Based on this I think Sandeep had an edge.Somehow I found Karunya doing Emotional Blackmailing despite he was singing so well.

I give more and more sympathy for Sandeep for his good looks and acha bhaashan hamare desh ki janta ke liye jab bheen usne gala rounds clear kara . sandeep ka sur aur aawaaz mere se milti julthi hein . amey ko middle mein drop kardiyen ,thodi bahut entertainment keliye karunya ko 2 step aur jaane diye.nearly 10 crores ka loss hein india jantha ka for all the rounds they have voted .

Karunya should have won - he was clearly a better singer and a better performer on stage!! But let’s not blame the judges - their body language clearly said that they all were for Karunya - but they obviously were not allowed to show their choices in the last round. It was unfortunate that the last round had to be decided by votes, which may not really do justice to real talent. For one thing, I agree that North Indians need to grow up. Come on! Its high time. For another, I blame Sony for taking such a stupid decision to make the final round as a voting round, when they very well know that their channel is not watched widely in the South!!! Or maybe they could have called this the “North Indian Idol”, because after all, only North Indians are going to vote!!!

An interesting debating going on till now.Anyways both karunya and Sundeep know who is the best of the two.Not gettin a prize is a bit of disappointment but then we really have come to know who is talented.karunya might have not bagged the Indian Idol2 title but he definitely swept the hearts of all the viewers.We are not concerned with whatever gimmicks or fraud might have happened behind the scenes but we definitely know who the ultimate winner is.Even Anu Malik once said in the finals -”I do not know whether entitled to get the Indian Title or not but you will definitely become the best in the industry”.This is more than an award or an accolade.We shouln’t fel pity for Karunya but we should be proud of him.As far as Sundeep is concerned he shouldn’t be blamed for anything, it is the people who have voted, who have to be blamed and the sony tv for their poor judging system.And I wish all the other contestants of Indian Idol Good luck in their future endeavours
