India will host the 2011 cricket world cup.According to media sources, International Cricket Council (ICC) chief Ehsan Mani says he is “grateful ” to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for personally ensuring tax exemption for the 2006 Champions Trophy and that the immunity will “allow ” India to bid for the 2011 World Cup. “The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the ICC worked very closely to obtain the tax exemption. It would have been unfortunate, to say the least, if India had not been able to host the Champions Trophy, ” Mani told IANS in an e-mail interview.
Asia have won the bid to host the 2011 World Cup by beating a joint bid by Australia and New Zealand by ten votes to three. The ICC’s executive committee met in Dubai on Sunday, and made series of decisions regarding the future hosting of events. After missing out on 2011, Australia and New Zealand have the 2015 World Cup and England the 2019 event.
What do you think? What changes do you want to see when compared to the 1996 edition?

I don’t its right to exempt tax exemption for World Cup..
I remember, when BCCI told to Supreme Court that they are independent entity and need not follow govt ruling to give Prasara Bharathi exclusive telecast rights.. Atleast now govt should bargain on this while giving tax exemptions
good find
