From the very first day, our licensing was “Creative Commons” which allows anyone to quote and take posts from our site provided they mention the source and link back to our site.
We take atmost care to do the same thing for every post we take or link from other sites. This doesn’t mean Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste. Lately we have been noticing many sites just copying and pasting the content posted on desivideos on their sites.
Yesterday, we have seen one site copying about 150 posts in same order with images, with text, with colors same as here. There is no source mentioned anywhere. These Posts in different categories you see to the top are completely taken (Ctrl + C) from desivideos. The description of site reads “Giving you only the Best of the Best in Entertainment! UPDATES EVERYDAY !!”.
This is what we have to say to those people. We are few people just like you working hard to keep up with our work and at the same time running this site. We spend a lot of time (sometimes sleepless nights) to develop & search for the content to post here at one place. We started out as a small blog and in time we grew with everyone’s support. We would really appreciate if you stop copying and do your homework by searching your own content and thinking creatively. This way you can have your own identity which will fetch you more users. Thanks for understanding.

It’s really sad to see this is happening. I guess people always go for quick fame. They don’t take the right path to reach there.

I dont understand what is the prolem. You are not keeping any legal videos…you are also getting info from other sites, so the other site is also doing the same. If you do its correct and if it is done by other its wrong.

My understanding of Ctrl C from the educational and technological system in this country and from around the world…is that if you quote somebody’s work or source..its acceptable…and when you are just pasting the content directly without even referencing it…dear then you cannot even talk about the legalities around this space..hoping you know what quoting is and what it means in this digital space…
Hey even I accept with none. Iam not blaming desivideos but they are doing the same what you are doing.. I am a big fan of this site but at the same time when u say blame other people for doing the same thing that u r doing I cannot accept…. Am really sorry to say this.

The problem is not using posts but copying them directly. I left a comment 2 days back on the site. Still got no answer from them.

I own a website too. I will get pretty pissed off when some one just copy’s. There are limitations like taking zest or lines. But if u intentionally copy and paste then I gotta admit its Pretty aweful.

I exactly know which site you are referring. I have noticed it a day before but thought it might be from you guys. But looks like they ripping your off line by line each day. Its good that u dedicated a post. I don’t know if u can convince them to stop. But yes this is a big deal. I am with u guys.

@anonymous@10:35. We are happy that you are a fan of desivideos. The main point is copying not taking links. In One day 150 posts were just copied with images, with text. So, Is it ok for anyone to just Ctrl C and Ctrl V the posts here? Think !
We never mentioned that we own any of the links here. We clearly mentioned the source of video, links on every post. That was our policy from very first day and it will be like that.

Hello Boss…don’t talk about policies and legal things… after all you also copying from others and i don’t think you are informing the owner of the source where ever you are getting the links that you are putting in your site. so don’t talk about ethics. Just shut up. If you have your own source of videeos then you are eligible to blame some one. otherwise.. go to hell…

I can understand the effort you take in and out searching various websites and getting all the content in one place. All those website guys shud open their eyes now,,,, wake up dudes…. try to search and post, even if u copy give the reference atleast……
Hi desivideos, i can understand where you are coming from, and i know which site you are refering to as well. To be frank that site used to be my fav site when it was running forums however it got stopped i think as they relesed lot of new cinema every week. i dont know why they are doing it now but one thing for sure they are good as they used to respond to emails to me when i talk to them good. email them and ask them to say put reference to your site, as many mentioned even the links and videos you have on your site is not your own in any way and he is doing the same as well and he is also giving reference to original guys. i hope i did not hurt you
@Shankar: Thank You for your comment. As We mentioned before we DO NOT object if any one takes links. But copying some 150 posts in one day? Think about it? We have 80% of links from youtube and Google Videos. Is it ok to copy those and not changing any thing and publishing them?
We are just trying to bring some attention to it. And no u did not hurt any one. We have been open from very first day.
@Copier: We may not respond as in the same language as you do. But as we mentioned before there is limit of what you guys are doing. How do u think u feel when some other site takes your posts by just Copying them not modifying anything? How do u feel if all posts you publish each day appear on different site? All we say is do some home work just don’t Ctrl C. Finally, All the best for your site and we sincerely hope your site gets good attention.

hey admin, why dont u have a rightclick disable and status bar view disable scripts so that people cant copy,,,, think abt it…..if u want i can pass on the scripts.

Ya i can see..u guys always mention the source of the video. I really appreciate ur honesty and efforts. Its not fair enough to copy n paste the links without even mentioning the source. Atleast now, they should stop flicking..
Hey guys.. i don’t know what this website person is complaining about, but this website is just like all the other indian websites. THEY ALL COPIED… All the videos are from youtube, or some other place…and as long as there is a logo on the video where it came from that is not copying…and all this information about movies do you think the person who made this website gets it NO!!. That person copies from news. I don’t think he goes around taking interviews of movies.
