Now India is virtually out of the World Cup after the team failed to chase a target of 255 runs set by the Sri Lankans. When it was most required, the famed Indian batting line-up failed to deliver and the entire team was bundled away for 185 runs. The faces of the Indian team members after the loss summed up India’s dismal performance with many players along with the skipper shedding more than a few tears.
If you retrospect, what do you guys think India could have done to better perform in the World Cup. You can Rave and Rant .. 
First Sachin should be dropped and he should gracefully retire

Nroooding over issues surrounding cricket is simply a waste of time….They are better things to accomplish in life than these sporting issues. And I don’t mean just cricket…any damn sport….We have seen a game today…Someone wins & Someone loses AND THAT IS IT. Call it a day and focus on other issues in life (I bet we have plenty)

I think idia were completely outplayed by a better opposition. This will sure be the end of the 3 musketers(Sachin,Sourav and Rahul) along with Kumble and Agarkar. End of an era where probably the most prolific batsmen of all time in odi cricket history played together but not to have one any major odi tournament.

In my opinion;
Every profession has its own boundaries. Though there are a million and one more things that can be done or one thinks s(he) can do, but honestly speaking, perfection can be acheived only in one. For such a perfection, dedication is required. When one seems to get lured with extra cash, it is bound that the quality gows down. What I am pointing towards is how hedious it looks to see sachin or any other players doing advertisements like “Yeh andar ki Baat Hai.”
These players have these options:
no offense.. take it easy.
Make up their mind and remain contented with whatever they make in their profession
Or simply do not choose this profession.
Mixing two things is a catatrophic disaster as we all have seen today. What a waste of tax-payers money.
Also utmost important thing is that this media is a total time pass. I dont know what and what not they advertised to promote the propaganda of world cup cricket. I still remember the shaggy style pose of tendulkar as well as others in Mumbai posing with a “V” sign right before flying as if they had already won the world cup. and on top of that from Mumbai to Allahabad, this media glorified the ponga pundits who I dont what bull crap were doing in Sangam showing their devotion. I can laugh all night long thinking about how goodie things were portrayed.
Man we do not have any team fit to be selected for a world cup. We are just like Bermuda players. At least they confess that they dont know how to play.
Look at us.. I surely would not be surprised at all to see Saching coming back and posing for a Condom advertisement that he will prefer others to use on him

Our cricketers are earning more money through commercials and they damn care for the game. Sachin can earn money even if he announces retirement today becaus tomorrow he will be commenterator. They are all useless. We should consider selecting altogether new eleven members and including new captain. We should not hang around this stupids. There are more better cricketers in our country. I think all the team should be shown the whole match in a room and ask them to comment and they should not be paid any tour fees, today especially Dhoni dismaissal i think he need to learn how to bat from harbajhan and munaf patel. that is not the way to bat.

start playing county cricket in europe, i guess dravid is the only one who does this right now, look at ausi players most play county cricket!!! we have to be with this team in their bad days also, india always had gr8 performence in world cup 92, 96, 99, and 2003, were very good world cup for india, but things have changed since then, bowling needs to be better, NO CANT drop sachin, he is indian cricket team, if u average his runs to world cup matches it;s more then 55 runs/match!!!
most of us living in usa, dont we know that our metro city teams have loosing record from many yrs, ppl still support them and watch games, we were there when they score 413, we were there when sachin rock ausi in 98 in sharjaha (i was 11 he he) i hardly watch cricket, but its important 4 ppl in india to live!!!!!!!
why in the world the other opening batsman Utaapa (i dun know name lol) was in team, played 15 ODI !!

Honestly, i feel indian government is wasting hell of a money on these fit for nothing dumb ass players… why is that all the players in the team can bat and bowl the same day that too against a weak team and none of them can play the next day. Cricket should be banned in india atleast for the next 5 years and they should invest all that money in things which help the country grow more at this booming time, surely there are going to be 20 or more unemployed but they sure can find something to survive. Sachin should retire before he got his ass kicked out.

well,well,well…..First of all, the team was not selected properly. I dont even think Robin Uthappa is even fit to be in the world cup squad at the expense of players like Mohammed Kaif!!
secondly, Tendulkar must have been dropped long back when he stopped performing( some ppl say “out of form”).How many matches do we have in which he made us win? we can count on fingers.
The third blunder is bringing sehwag into the world cup squad. Dravid knew that sehwag was not performing, but still he got sehwag to the west indies just to make people watch him “wag” his tail for minutes on the crease and get out cheaply.
India has the best batting line up in the world( on paper).The batting line up that could only score 400 ONLY against countries like bermuda!!
India has lost enough money investing in this sport and on players like Tendulkar.He is old enough now to retire from the sport.I dont understand why these old mo**s dont give way to young people who are ready to play for the country.Look at Mohammed Kaif…he is not even in the team, the reason being that all the spots in batting n bowling have been occupied by these old fa*ts.
Finally, this game should be banned in india for a while and players should be made to play lot of domestic cricket before forming another “dream team”( well its always in one’s dream india could form such a team).

What i would suggest you guys is that pls do not keep any hopes on india cricket team as it is not reliable.

On early India Exit I would like to raise a point since WC 2003 the experimentation that we were doing on youngesters ….If you see WC2007 Indian final 11 you will find only 2 new faces then WC2003 which are Utthpa and Munaf…..What happen to Srishanth, Pathan, RP singh, Kaif, VRV singh, Suresh Raina…. If you have to play with your old Camels then why don’t you play with them all the time…..I really don’t understand all this….Is there some politics going on arround this……

good turn of events…India should focus on other games like Hockey etc..We need to develop lot of interest and focus in local and regional level sports ….even decent interest in Ranji for ex will help that sport.
Also what happened makes me wonder is mixing patriotism and a team like that that represents ur country the right thing…. when ur team does not win because of spineless performance ( can anybody attribute any other reason ) what happens to the feeling of ur country / ur team ? just a side thought..

first up all this team should be banned for couple of years. rules has to changed.BCCI should have full control of players, no involvement should be allowed from politicians. the players should be selected for a period of 2years and they should not be allowed to make any modelling or any type of side earnings. performance wise remuneration has to be impleted. the prize money has to increased. more over the players are required to dedicate themselves for the play for the nation, nor for the modelling industry, then only the olden days will come to india again.

First of all, who the heck thought, that we were one of the best ODI teams. Let’s look at our wins and losses. We never win the way we should win and we never lose the way we should lose. It’s got more to do with attitude. The body language says it all.
No body mind’s you losing fighting and not all will appreciate if you win by the grace of the losing team.

but ofcourse our team had not given a tough fight, though they are capable of everything.
Now at this point we cant even think of dropping the major players like sachin, dravid, ganguly, dhoni, sehwag, yuvraj, kumbe, harbhajan. cricket in india is more than anything and these are the most key players, if not there younger talent do not know much really how to cope up in bad times.
this is the problem with us guys,
Remember: if we accept, know a person then do that both positively and negatively. try to accept and understand even their drawbacks, and encourage.
This has been the problem in our team, senior players are usually humiliated and sent to play within state, if there performance is not well. Thats not the way, try to encourage them try to show your belief and respect towards them.
do not forget we have legends, we have records, we have winnings, this one time doesnt define all.
entertainment is everyones responsibility and these figures are the main whom we know so they are taken for entertainment. this doesnt mean he is not professional. every person has two faces serious, determined,(or foolish, stupid in worst cases) and childish, enjoying.
but ofcourse indian tem should stop doing mistakes they are grown, they should be knowing their after each ball, each over, and each match, hsould rectify them, if they do then we would have not witnessed this day.
but still guys, lets encourage them, let them make our cricket live, let our belief and love give them the inspiration, and aspiration to be world champions, as we all know they are really best in team if properly selected and dealt.

It is bad to see India loosing. But the worst part is, they gave up the game once Dhoni was out. Agarkar was going for big shots after facing few dot balls, which was totally unnecessary. There were more than 20 overs left at that point. They should have just played cool down and decide to play all the 50 overs. The result woudl have been different, at leat by a chance of 10%.

Players are talented but leadership is poor, Dravid himself is a good player but he does not know how to motivate others to play well. I did not see any TEAM SPIRIT in Indian team. No encouragement given by seniors to juniors. We want Jadeja kind of active players in the team, body language takes a vital role in the play. BCCI should have honest people on the board . I think this would be better approach to get good performance out of cricketers……..BCCI should pay the salary to the cricketers based on their performance. All the money coming on Advs should go to govt, All aggreements and tie-ups should go thru govt

It is time for all of us to react on this shameful act of the indian team. This is nothing new, politics, personal benefit and other factors were always influencing indian cricket. How can a master blaster batsmen like Tendulkar be out for ZERO. Man u are in a responsible position. U should constantly think of what your duty is and strive for it. U are answerable to a nation. The whole nation praised u when u were excelling. It is time for you to retire and not degrade indian cricket any further.
This kind of performance by cricketers was prevailing since many decades. When Gavaskar performs, kapil does not and when kapil does Gavaskar does not. Why does a cricketer exhibit this kind of behaviour when they are representing a nation. forget all your personal thoughts,
Actually Authorities should be very strict in enforcing control over the selection process. Any player who does not perform should be expelled right away and every player should have a tenure(for example 5 years max, only when they are playing well)
All the team players should be assembled in a room and made to watch the lives of indian soldiers who are protecting our national borders being away from near and dear and sacrificing their lives. Indian cricketers should not be paid such huge remuneration. You are representing the nation and this is not your personal business to be so irresponsible. you are answerable to the entire nation for such shameful act.
It should be a lesson to any future cricketer, who is willing to play for the nation.
It is surprising that media also encourages the advertisements and gives enormous importance to Cricket than the lives of the soldiers who are protecting the nation day and night. Frankly speaking Team India is no way eligible to lift this world cup. All my worry is that they perfomed like an under dog team in this world cup. Sachin, Ganguly, Yuvaraj, Dhoni, Uthappa, what they did? ofcourse they all played well before but no use if they dont play when needed. Star player is a player who scores when needed.
Lack of confidence, lack of planning, lack of concentration, fear, pressure, feilding, bowling all these are problems for Team India. Now we should also add BATTING problem to the list. 255 is not a big total even then our star players failed to reach it. Team India should sharpen their skills in all above mentioned areas to lift the world cup in future.
My final wish is that BCC should drop coach Greg Chapel first. Also i wish media to stay away from players.
All cricket fans please dont waste your time burining player posters, attacking their family members. You get nothing in return if you do so Team India may depress more.

This is a very pathatic situation. I cant believe the performance of “THE GREAT INDIAN TEAM”.If anyone obeserved individual stats of india players
Sachin – master blaster
Dravid – Mr dependable
Ganguly – the greae dada (got good strike rate in world cup) and so on.
But when it comes to match all are ZERO. Indian players are “Ghar me Sher aur bahar chuvva”. The most of the matches we won are in the HOME. Thats a shame.
Coming to BCC. Its a political borad and a cricket board lol. its a really shame to US.

I am equally shocked like many of you watching India losing to Srilanka. It is a heavy loss for the whole country. Staying away from India admist colleagues from different nations it is even harder for people like me. But it is time for us not to blame the team for the loss. Our players were brilliant and one matchput them under lots of pressure. Playing under pressure is not easy.
Burning effigies and attacking players houses’
makes it even worse. If we take the defeat in a sportive way and allow the team to rise back, I am sure they would come back with greater and better performance. Please respect them and remember each one of us have gone through failures it might not be a World Cup but all those who went there they put their hard work to be there. They are paying for the loss and the gain then anyone else. I am proud to be an Indian and one match would not take that away form me!!!

We must not forget that India has won on Srilanka few weeks back in India. To win in Cricket continuously, one has to be very very provisional. If India and Srilanka plays again, India may win now. So, we can say, India is a good team but not a great team and India can win against the world’s strongest team and at the same time, it can loose against the world’s weakest team.
India has to become a great team and we need to blame entire Indian cricket (including players) for India not to be a great team after winning one world cup, having more than 1000 millions population, lots of potential players, lots of money etc.
We need to find answers for the following questions,
Why are we not getting at least one good fast bowler like Wasim Akram, Vakar Yunis etc?
Why are we not able to win matches out side India and did we do any thing seriously to over come this issue?
Where is all the money going, which Indian cricket board is earning?
What is the senior cricketer’s contribution to Indian cricket team since years except making junk comments and making money?
Why lots of young players are not shining after a good carrier start in domestic cricket?
Why are we still very week in fielding?
Cricket players, entire Indian cricket board must answer to these questions and the responsibilities to make a Great Indian cricket team has to be given to the dedicated and honest people (they need not be cricketers or Indians).
More than 1000 million people has to do this with a plan and strategy….sacking Sachin, diminishing Dhoni’s house, black painting Kaif’s house etc…will not resolve the problems… and they are absolutely foolish….
Let us work on making a Great Indian Cricket team….Long live Indian Cricket….

I don’t understand why everyone blames players for the defeat. BCCI has to be blamed for this. Being the richest cricket board in the world, and having millions of dollars in the bank why don’t they develop the cricket facilities in entire India and encourage young talent by assuring them that they can make a career out of it even if they don’t make it to the national team. The most unfortunate thing is we don’t have a genuine fast bowler when small nations like PAK and SL have many. Unless BCCI develops the sport in India, team will never get to the next level.

Well, lots of anger and dissapointment from 1 billion people back home..But the players are more dissappointed than we are..we are the ones who raise them to heights and we are the same people who criticize them..Not fair folks
The fact that the team did not perform well is they become mentally weak, unlike other teams, when they are under pressure. Once the top order failes to perform the whole team falls apart which shouldn’t happen. Also, before the batsmen settled down they were gone (esp Sachin and Dhoni) without contributing. The crucial wicket was Yuvi’s who shouldn’t have been run out..Nothing went in their favor and they lost and SL played played well and worked hard to create the pressure on our team..
Having said that, I am upset too as any other Indian and I don’t want to blame any individual in the team. They gave their best shots and things didn’t go right with them..
After all it’s a game- and one has to lose..so let’s not make a fuss about it and let’s give them some personal space to breathe and let them think about their future games instead of blaming/abusing them.

It’s the same old story. Indian team more strong on the paper than in the field. Our top players never performed when it is needed. the best example is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. time and again it proved that he cannot handle pressure. He is the best in technique, no doubt, but he never delivered when India needed.
Indian players are more dedicated for the commercials than the game. All the top players places in the team are reserved and taken for granted, there is no threat for their place, then why would they play to their potential.Indian cricket team should be banned from taking part in commercials.. they should be paid if and only if they won the match.
The best thing at this point I feel is to ban cricket in India, scrap the Indian team, it is wasting everybody’s time. It may sound toooooooo extreme, but should be done.
It is the most popular game, overtook the national game hockey,, there is no problem for funds, richest cricket board in the world. only problem is committment and dedication from the team,,,, only way to solve the problem is scrap the team……

India team is not deserve for World Cup. Very Clearly understand in last few matches, Prefessionalism , agrresive coudn’t find any where.
My opinion is for India making professional players, Local matches are very important, Instead going out tours our side the country, As many as local( with in India) mathces are very very important on different pitches. Who perform well in stable and continues order,
Select for internation matches, don’t go who does have old records.
Still in India strgulling bowlers, Our fielding very bad.
In one day cricket each and every run is very important.
I think Ganguly and others very poot rotate strking.
I think this time our senior players have to take retirement, give a chance young cricketers.

Ban the BCCI and merge this with Indian Olympics/Sports Authority.
Lets encourage other games with the HUGE money BCCI has. so that atleast people know little bit of knowledge about the other games.
Also restrict the companies/corporates to hire sports persons for the Advertising.
Provide them a complete closed room/private environment for the practice as well for the profession.

Hi I think that any team that participates in world cup should come with guts. Indian team lack that when it comes to a good opposition…the game against Sri Lanka wasn’t a tough to win if they would have shun their fear and played with confidence. We lacked a good partnership. The body language of our players too did not project confidence. This early elimination of our team from the world cup should by now give our team a lesson that only having skills isn’t enough but also to have a strong personality is necessary to clinch the crunch games and kill the fear.

Reduce playing cricket matches. Playing shouldn’t be casual.
Zonal selection system should go away and county type system should be introduced. Increase prize money, advt and attract crowd for these matches. All must play these.
Should prepare fast & bouncy pitches, where batsmen learn to play and will generate good fast bowlers.
Indian cricket board need to spend money in developing cricketers or infrastructure.
Selection should not be based on averages. Who is playing well now should be in the team.

The cricket team is probably the only bunch of Indians today who are not losers. It is the FANS in India who behaved like losers in the truest sense. We proved that we are a bunch of misguided missiles who just can outdo each other in being inhuman and total idiots. We have no true appreciation of talent/lack of it. All we do is measure people by wins and losses irrespective of how it was achieved.
Accusations against the cricketers:
Money is wasted on them..they are suited for ads and modeling..etc etc
None of them actually came begging at our doorstep for this. It is we who chose to invest in them, and like all business ventures, there is degree of risk involved.
If we are truly patriotic, we should raise our voice when the money is being spent…not after…

hi I was wondering if a movie is a big flop (even amitabh has some despicable flops), it never stopped us revering that actor. But when team India failed, we feel somebody has cheated us but cannot take it as some bad day or moment. May be I am wrong, but we feel ass if India lost a world war and became slave to some other nation. I feel India as nation is great and never will loose. Before my answer here is an analysis from someone who does not know much about cricket but has common sense
1. India is the largest population in the world (say a billion people)….. we can’t find 11 good players
2. Politicians should stick their a$$es in politics not in sports
3. Patriotism should not be just for the fans but for the selectors as well
My answer to India’s dysmal performance and a chance in the future. Put all the bull $hit aside and pick a good team. Stop picking select few from regions. If there are 11 best players in Mumbai region pick them all, if there are 11 in south india pick them all.
Pick a good team not a team that equally represents all zones, at least for the world cup. Us fans would cheer for any team even if there are no on that represent our region. We would all be happy if India wins not because some player from my region made a 100.

1) 30% to SC/ST
2) 20% to BC (A, B, C, D………Z)
2) 10% Ex-service
3) 10% Handicapped
5) 10% Minority (As the congress givt. proposes)
Rest from the open category.
6) An SC/ST given 2 lives, double the runs scored.
7) Inner circle is the boundary, boundary circle is the six.
