Good ! Reservations should not be open ended one and it would not be on Caste basis. There should be a time line.
Reservation should be the last thing our govt. should be doing ! its been there since 60 years in Tamil Nadu and still the scenario has definitely not worked even with more than 60% reservation.
Why cant they work on building better primary and secondary schoolings that may not create a need for Quota !!

I think reservations are just hurting the OBC’s and nation as a whole …..
It is absurd to think that by being born to parents with a particular last name gives a new born baby more privileges in terms of financial security/oppurtunities/privileges than others.
Anyone who is doing a percentage count of have’s among a particular community is ignoring the fact apart from the so called x% people who according to him are wealthy there are (100-x)% people who aren’t.
Why is it, people think about Reservations only when it comes to education and Rights. When it comes to marriage, everybody know what upper caste is and what lower caste is.
So unless there is social equality, reservations should continue. and believe me guyz this caste system is getting more worst as every caste is isolating itself from other castes and trying to show how superier they are than other. Young generation instead of opposing caste system are working more in creating differences between castes. People are becoming more fanatics about their caste, this might lead to hatred for other castes.
That is why u see Reddy Community, Chowdary Community, Raju Community, Velma Community, Brahmin Community(I almost forgot that, even they fall into FC’s caste) on orkut.
Now lets see in Andhrapradesh for instance, FC’s and OC’s who are not even 25% of the population are ruling the state. They are the richest. Whereas poeple (BC’s, SC’s ST’s) who are 75% are still suffering. Please tell me how many people have become millionaries using this reservation. Its jus helping them in being somebody in the society.
And how can u forget politicians, they are the one, who get max benefits of what ever Govt has to give it to this BC’s, SC’s and ST’s. 60% of the funds alloted to them are being misued by the politicians. In most of the co-operative society where loans are being alloted for these people are taken by FC’s and OC’s on some Benami names. They dont feel ashamed for that. People from FC’s and OC’s cheat saying that they are from BC’s and SC’s and ST’s to get into some important engineering institutions. They dont feel ashamed of it.
There’s lot more to say, but anyway next time. So Underline is ” UNLESS AND UNTILL THERE IS SOCIAL AND ECONOMIS EQUALITY” RESERVATIONS MUST CONTINUE..

What makes you think that this new one will work even though the Reservations which are in place for last 60 years were not working?
It just divides people. I know these are oppressed before but that cannot be solved by giving them an unfair advantage in professional carriers. This can be solved by a strong primary and secondary education which must be compulsory.
THe entire new generation of children will suffer because of these inequalities. I still remember that on every for m in school I have to write my caste as FC / BC etc.
If you want to obolish caste system why do we want to keep it?
And the biggest question FOR HOW LONG? There will be no end for reservations. See those were intender for 10 years and its been 60 years now. And the same will be there for next 100 years with no result.
Bottom line is reservations cannot help in changing the brutality of Caste System. Strong Education can do. Come to Hyd or Delhi or Bangalore see IT or any fields. Do u think they care if u are SC / FC. All comes to money RICH / POOR. No caste there at all.

i think these caste communities in orkut mean only to put people together and discuss about their cultures and things in their caste.there isn;t anything relating to high low and stuff.i dont u shud come to that conclusion.maybe there are one or two people who think that way,but to tell u the fact if there is really a discrimination goin on(like not touching) 4 a low caste guy then that shud be a major problem…and i think at that time reservations carry a lot of weightage.but du u find any discrimination now….so reservations does not make any sense here.

1) Ok so if you think reservation for 60 years was succes, why do u think still 20% minority is still ruling the states.
2) Primaru Education - Unless and untill they are socially and economically strong, one cannot give their children good primary & secondary education. You yourself agree to the point that people are still not getting primary education and or secondary education. so how do you think reservations for 60 years was fruitful.
3) Bigeest questions is how long ??..In last 60 years we made so much progress lets say 20%, in upbringing lower caste to a good soci-economic conditions, how about 55% remaining. Its not the quantity of help we are providing, its the quality which is important. Does every person get equal chance or his right ? If that has been provided, then where is the progress ??..If 60 years couldn’t bring much progress, in how many more years would it bring ??

Only idea of brining reservations, was to make a society which is equal in every sense. Still few people who constitute 20% of the indian population rule the country, so where is power ?? and where is equality ?? Not even one in 80% of this world’s second largest populated country never made it to that highest postion of PM. So do you see any equality here ??

I could still see the descrimination against BC/SC/ST in villages. Even though I belong to FC, I do support reservation to the discriminated group. The question is who are they?
1) You mentioned 25% of the FC people are ruling the whole Andhra state? You mean to say that all 25% (App. 2 Crores) of FC are economically and socially forward? FC, who don’t have enough money to get education are litterlly left in between Economically forward group and Reservation group? Aren’t you literally excluding them to be on par with the rest of the society just for the sake they are born in a specific caste? I am asking you the same question? why is that, a person is discriminated if he is born in a particular caste?
2) You also have mentioned that Reservation system has brought up 20% of the discrimated group (BC/SC/ST) to the regular society. If the they are on par with the regular society, then why do that 20% still deserve reservation? Shouldn’t they let the remaining group use the reservation system? Do you think these developed BC/SC/ST groups will allow the undeveloped BC/SC/ST groups to use and benefit from it? BC/SC/ST Civil Servants (IAS/IPS), Business People, Politicians use reservations for their own kids to become another IAS/IPS or Minister? Will a BC/SC/ST coolie be benefited by any way from this so called Reservation system? Isn’t it completely misused by a developed group to supress the rest of the same community? If this is the case, even if you extend the reservation for another 1000 years, you can’t bring up the remaining (60%) on par. Do you know who is the first enemy for the undeveloped discrimated group? DEVELOPED BC/SC/ST group, NOT FC. Developed BC/SC/ST group use caste system as an excuse to them get benefited, but definitely not to bring up the rest.

I do support reservation to undeveloped discrimated group (non-creamy layer). I DO NOT SUPPORT RESERVATION IN THE CURRENT FORM. COMPLETELY MISUSED BY STRONG ROGUES IN ALL COMMUNITIES (FC/BC/SC/ST).

SC/ST reservation system has nothing to do economical grounds….it is related to social discrimination they are suffering…..
even if you think economy as a criteria how is creamy layer is a barrier…IIT/IIM are the topmost institutes and many of seats are vacant…AIIMs who has just 4 seats in ST couldnt fill its 2 ST seats 2-3 years back….forget about DU/other state programs….where the hell creamy layer is making an obstruction….creamy layer thing will in fact be harmful for these groups as they will lose their representation in the society and will go 50 years backward….
and who the hell is saying reservation is worthless…in early 60s, in haryana SCs were not able to get into med schools….today, in haryana only 5-10 SCs doctors exist who are older than 55….but today, there is competition…..we guys do not consider it as a handicap…but as our right….
i agree with telogudu in that why the hell there are colonies formed on basis of caste in villges….forget village…in delhi, i know a lot of failure of love affaors coz of caste barriers…..including families of IAS/IPS officers….

Admissions in to educational institution should be based only on acadamic performance.I do not agree reservations basd on any other aspect.60 yrs back when the idea was introduced there was lot of discremination in communities and it was for only 10 yrs.Even the polititions know that it is going to kill merit but due to huge vote bank involved, they cannot dare to talk against it.
How it feels when a student of 5000 rank with strong financial support getting seat and you with the rank 1000 and not finanacially strong struggling to get seat just because you are FC.And the worst thing is,students who entered in to the educational institution with reservation often fail to clear their exams in first attempt.
Our great polititions making differences in the community more prominent by deviding it on cast basis.
When Govt is providing free education starting from LKG, Why it is proving reservations and this shows how well our Govt is working.
I would like to say that MERIT should be the only and only criteria for admission and cast based reservations should be last.
Telugudu-II, I agree with you, economically well off BC (SC/ST/OBC) should be excluded from reservation.
Instead of increasing no. seats for BC’s, in institute of higher learning, govt. should look at getting more BC’s in Technical institute. So instead of focusing on getting 1 BC into IIT, they should focus on getting 10 BC’s into ITI. This way, large section of low income families will be benefited..
Reservation should continue and perhaps, no. of seats should be increased, in some of the areas, specifically, civil servants – IPS,IAS, Judges etc. Almost, all of them are corrupt, adding more BC’s to this list will not affect merit. They way nepotism works in our country; it is more likely that a BC will get justice if there are more of them in these areas.
I totally agree on Reservations should continue. The reason why I say this is if you do not help these communities by spend a decent amount to uplift their lifes, you may be forcing them irrespective of FCs or BCs to turn into an anti-social element which will cost a lot to contol. In ancient times caste system was divided based on profession which worked then and unfortunately turned as a disastrous system. I wish reservations were now made on Economic grounds. HIG, MIG, LIG and EWS (Economically Weaker Section)etc.
Apart from these reservation based either on Caste or Economic Satus should be only upto a certain level of education for eg. till 10 2 or a Degree and in jobs may be till one gets a job and not on promotions.
On the other hand, all creamy education should self funded. Why should my Tax money be spend on a person in top-notch institute if he/She leaves the country after education and not useful for me or our country. Let the institutions get sponsors or the students pay for it.
