The International Crisis Group (ICG), a think tank organization, has said that the Pakistan military regime’s reliance on religious parties for political survival and sectarian tilt of state institutions have led to the “mushrooming” of madarsas in Karachi and other parts, which have sent ‘Jihadis’ to Jammu and Kashmir & Afghanistan.
When asked (madrasa students) about list the priorities for Pakistan,
- 99.2 per cent of madrasa students answered conquering Kashmir
- 97.7 per cent implementation of Sharia law
- 96.1 per cent developing nuclear weapons
- 87.7 per cent strengthening the army
- Over 73 percent of madrasa students opposed equal rights for women
- 81.6 per cent opposed equal rights for Ahmedis
- 71.7 per cent were against Christians and Hindus.
- Nearly half said democracy was not a priority,
- More than 76 per cent were against freedoms for the electronic media.
If you look at the above points, you can see how extremists work. No freedom, no equal rights, no democracy, no religious freedom, no press freedom!
More than ever Pakistan is currently going into the hands of extremists. Musharraf cannot act as he needs to be re-elected and there is a huge power vacuum. The only way this can be prevented is that our Pakistani moderate brothers have to step up in curbing this extremism. They should not give-in to these extremists and have to protect their rights.

The questions asked to students at madarsas in pakistan are them self aimed to get such response and defame them .
i would like to clarify one each point

this is some thing wrong but the madrasa does impart this. because unlike hindu law , shariah law women have property rights. And about marriage its possible on their consent and dont need to be burnt or suffer due dowry. unlike in india where over 1 crore girls were aborted before birth(source — bbc survey ) girls are free to live in pakistan. of course rapes in pakistan ,so the condition is worser in india. even diplomats from other countries were raped in our rape capital delhi.
6. 81% oppose ahmedias . who are they, they are the people who are agianst the madrasa and mainstream islam with there new fraud baba type religion. of course even many hindu would be opposed.
7. 71 % oppose hindus, so do hindus in india do to muslims and christians in many north and west states like gujrath, mp , up , other hinduthva heartlands where fools like thakre , thogadia, ….. many more are liked not bcoz of them being good practicing hindus but just of there illogical anti-muslim stands. bajrang dal and other similar groups have hands in killing of missionaries and rapes of nuns. genocide in gujrat and roits in other places. bombing of samjotha express are there activities.

I am not opposing Pakistan as a nation to have nuclear weapons. Its there right to have them. But extremists acquiring nuclear weapons is a big issue. We certainly do not want an unstable religious zealot to acquire them do we?

The above discussions are worth reading but most of the arguments / comments are coming from heart rather than the mind.
When a problem occurs then you make an effort in identifying a root cause you do not apply a band-aid to cover it up but try to address the cause.
The arguments Pinky is making are emotional rather than rational. Evidently her myopic viewpoint is directed against a particular section of society while being ignorant against an equally extremist group on the other side. The “Shakhas” preach an equally distorted and violent perspective. Don’t vent your ignorance against one entity.
Mentor tried to present a view which he believed justified the responses based on the group that was questioned and the nature of questions asked. One thing he overlooked was that neither does a larger sample of population within a society (Pakistan or India) support such views nor do they endorse them.
The questions were purposely directed towards a group which was obviously not in a position or capable to respond intellectually to them.
Had these questions being asked to a cross section of people from various background, I am pretty sure the response would have been very different.
A person is not a true believer until and unless he desires for his brother what he desires for himself.
