An Important mile stone which Indians can be proud off.

Naveen, 007,
Few hundred years ago when India was flourishing. She had numerous wealth, excellent crops, no hunger in the country, no famine. But one thing she was lacking is latest weapons (at that time the gun and canon).
Due to this she has lost wars to invading barbarians and the crooked Britishers.

In the modern times she has lost war to China in 1962. Do you or the people who have the same mind set guarantee that Pakistan or China or Bangladesh or any other country wouldn’t attack India. Pakistan is eagarly waiting to destroy India if it gets a chance. It is already doing it through the proxy war.

You are right, currently there is lot of hunger in the country, but if India falls into the hands of enemy then she will have to see more hungry people.

I agree that development should be there on civilian front and I believe government is allocating sufficient funds for that. But because of the few corrupted politicians we are not able to fare well in the civilian front.

So before criticising the weapons program, atleast we should have the manners to congratulate the scientists who have worked hard to achieve this goal. It will encourage them to develop better defence systems so that Indian people can feel safe.

A weapon is made primarily to kill or intimidate the “other”. If this is what we need then so be it. oops..now I am thinking of alternatives to defense? Hope I’ll find one…you think so?

Investing huge amounts of money towards developing weapons such as there is not something that we should be proud of. We should focus on other areas such as developing cities or the Garland Canal project (interlinking of rivers in India); This will help our country get strong economically and politically. The stupid weapon that we developed today is of no use to us now; we have no need for it but we have the need for water and powerâ€¦

there is noting to be proud of. This project is supossed to be finished in 1995. In addition they spend Rs 1400 crores then estimated. Tell me know should v really be proud of this underperformance????
