Excellent Movie — a movie for both Indian and Pakis… shows the poision Pakis have towards Indians… and also the indifference Indian politians have towards their own country’s bravest and selfless men…!!

Hail Pakistan!!! we gave bangladesh freedom and they killed our soldiers couple of years ago by torture and axed the bodies of 10. What did we do asked an explanation from there high commission!

Shame on Indians. We never learn and will never learn.

i will write this and be in josh for some time then go back to work tomorrow morning and will apply for my green card and be happy. People in india will lick the asses of sonia gandhi and then listen to rahul gandhi on how big favor they have done to us by giving us freedom.

Lets enjoy all that and forget about our country. What difference does it make, we were ruled by every race and will be ruled in future also!

Jai hind and go to sleep guys tomorrow we have to start working for our own needs

PS: u r right u guys will never learn u guys always make same mistakes n will always do that … even a donkey doesn’t fall over the same rock again …

but i concent with your words about gandhi family till sonia. we haven’t seen rahul that much, hope is a INDIAN blood.

Right now i dont even have words to protest one of the STUPID comments made by Srinivas. Its a very touching movie and I pray to God that he blesses the families of all those missing soldiers enough strength to cope up with the situation.

Its VERY SAD how sometimes the so called diplomatic barricades come in the way of handling things with PAKISTAN even when you know for a fact that they have our BRAVE SOLDIERS.

All i can say now is I am proud to be an INDIAN and if i were to be reborn I would always want to be born as an INDIAN.

    MERA BHARAT MAHAAN!!!

  14. 14 Albert Apr 18th, 2007 at 12:20 am

i don’t think i have ever seriously written a review on a movie before…. but this movie has touched me so much….

Firstly, i never thought this was such an incredible movie. This has touched me outright. How could such an excellent movie be disregarded by the indian media and public?

what do these soldiers get for doing so much to their motherland? what motivation do they get for their freedom? I just pray for these souls and their families.

And i feel, nobody has quite understood what srinivas said… he has been misunderstood…. probably he has himself been touched as much….. but couldn’t use the right words. Peace to all.

  15. 15 Srinivas Apr 18th, 2007 at 4:04 pm

Thanks Albert! it took 3 intelligent indians to judge me!

Guys i am more patriotic than most of you guys, i have an orphange in HYD. so dont judge me. Please read between the lines and you will understand what i mean.

We will write all this but we are indians and our memory is short lived and mark my words guys

“Until we act and straighten this politicians our country is going to cats and dogs”. I dont care if you guys judge me or write stupid things. But this is the truth.

Just think twice before you write something.

  16. 16 Anagha Apr 18th, 2007 at 5:53 pm

    I see Srinivas’ point ….
And sweety what do you mean when you say
“PS: u r right u guys will never learn u guys always make same mistakes n will always do that … even a donkey doesn’t fall over the same rock again … ”
If you think you are different from us then why are you even saying anything here …
We treat all religions the same, infact we give more respect to people who are outsiders … We take refugees from all our neibours yet we are continuously persecuted. But do we ourselves even know about the fate of our own people … Google Hindu Holocaust; more Hindu’s were persecuted in Bangaladesh than even Jews in Poland under Hitler ….
Our soldiers fought for our country and we are hesitant to even stand up and ask for them ! If one American civilian even is captured elsewhere all hell breaks loose. Whereas us, we are concerned about the sensitivity of the situation, or like Srinivas said busy with our own corrupt politicians …

  17. 17 Pavan Apr 18th, 2007 at 9:42 pm

Srinivas I appreciate you running an orphanage. I myself dont do any such thing. Good job. I just got irked by your comments
“Shame on Indians. We never learn and will never learn.” and “we were ruled by every race and will be ruled in future also!”

Dont you think you went overboard with these statements?

India is a huge country with a VERY VAST DIVERSITY. Even in such diversity we have emerged as a growing economy and very soon will catch up with the other leasing economic giants. It takes a lot to keep things organized in such a Diverse atmosphere. I feel only India has the capability to survive. Imagine this much diversity elsewhere I am pretty sure they will just go haywire.

I aplogize if i hurt your sentiments but do not back your harsh statements towards ALL THE INDIANS.

  18. 18 shivdath Apr 19th, 2007 at 5:26 am

this is a great movie and some comments comes of our politics. what you thinking guys politics is not only some people property. no person born as polititian. if you have strength to serve people why u looks others you want to do that. dont wait for any leader. india is the only country that people have our own freedom that freedom you never can see any other country even america and europe also

  19. 19 a Apr 19th, 2007 at 4:55 pm

oh oh god , u people started fighting with each other, while seeing such good patriotic movie, movie is good, dont fight with each other.

One real thing somebody wrote about indian economy. But i really feel india is far behind. we have to do alot to be called as developed nation. Economy is shining in big cities, but i know how the situation in village, ask them, nothing is shining for them. Maharashtra is one of the developed state in India , presently dont have electricity for 24 hr. There is no electricity in cities for 4 to 6 hr(daily) and in village 12 hrs-14 hrs (daily):

  22. 22 1971 Apr 20th, 2007 at 11:49 pm

couple of people caught between the crossfire …. thats what i felt when watching the movie … where do we all beong ? a huge great subcontinent 2 decades back …just reduced to 2 countries agianst each other …. who gives the answer to the souls and families of the people who r gone in this ? is it the politicians sitting in New Delhi or Islamabad ??? geting back our POW’s … who cares ? when we r interested in our day to day activites ? the basic essence of patriotism has been lost …. the very essence of our principles and our values ??? where r they ??? can people tell ?????????????? …. i know there is no answer …….

Nice movie great acting by all the actors especialy manoj bajpai charging towards indian loc makes you at the edge of the seat . The comments that i have read above i see people are right with there reasons . No body cares , even for those soldiers our care will not help the only grace is to feel what they feel , to understand what they undergo and appreciate there sacrifice . Inculcate the qualities in our lives and give something to mother land which she rightfully deserves

  28. 28 Neal Apr 28th, 2007 at 2:49 pm

Really patriotic movie which reveals bad politicians’ worst politics including India and Pak.
Hands down to all those soldiers who are fighting for their country.
Hey srinivas- got your point by reading your second comment. First comment that you made was really bad - it’s just that you could not use right words. you kind of did go against India. But still appreciate your comment.
    At last,

    Hey pals..

Worth watching movie.. In fact I sent the link to whole of my group.. It really makes you feel concerned for the brave soldiers who shed their lives and some of them are still suffering because of the bereaucrats… It’s really sad that in spite of knowing the facts, Govt. has not taken any initiatives so far…This is my first review for any of the movies posted online… I appreciate Srinivas’s attempt of running an orphanage… It really touched me… Well, I have decided that I am going to make my future in Inidian Politics and will try me best to achieve a better INDIA..!!

It’s really amazing how many people here form their views on international affairs based on a movie. This movie along with others like “Border”, “Lakeer” and “Refugee” are just stories, with the possible exception of “Border” which is based on a real event and may contain some historical accuracy. Otherwise these movies are just the run of the mill, drum beating, jingoistic movies produced by Bollywood that appears to have a bigger effect on the general Indian populace than real world events. It’s very obvious that the director’s / producers have done an extremely good job of rabble rousing.

Nobody commented on the acting, production or whether the protagonists were successful in their attempts to win over the audience. Instead there is more drum beating and “patriotic” comments. It makes one wonder about India’s tall claims about its vaunted educational system.

To date there is no evidence that Indian prisoners are being held in Pakistan. Unfortunately, movies such as 1971 serve to stir up a subject that is long dead and has no place in a modern and progressive society.
