Gary Kirsten said in Johannesburg on Tuesday that he had accepted the BCCI’s offer to become the coach of the Indian cricket team. Kirsten, 40, will start his assignment by joining the team as a consultant on its tour of Australia starting later this month.
The former South African opener said his two-year contract would commence from March 1. The BCCI is set to publicise the appointment on Wednesday, two days after the deadline they had set to make the announcement.

i think without coach only they are doing well!!!!
You got good thinking. But the coach is not for you. Gary is for India Team. Let them think now. Not you. Any ways keep thinking Lol!
Theres nuthin 2 discuss here. We dont have any eligible coach available for us and we gotto search for ourselves…pity us….no fancy..better be happy with wat v got.
Gary is right option….coz As a southafrican ..he knows how to handle the game in pressure..No indian player know this…to be frank…
Soo many great veterans and BCCI could not find a single Indian Coach out of them. I will not watch any Indian matches starting March 1 until BCCI appoints an Indian coach or ICL takes charge.
Oh come on Bro Vb…We Should Love cricket…Not the Coach…I hope u’ll see the matches
come on VB , don’t be mad at cricket coz of BCCI incapabilities.. we are team India remember.. watch chak de .. it will refresh u…
i think appoint as a foreign coach is good he knows the conditions of foreign pitches, but bcci have to look we are great great former players in india bating master GAVASHKAR , azheruddin, srikant all of awoesom players first they dersrve be coach for india what u thinks guys.
What a coach? South Africans are chokers of the gave, giving away important matches.Gary is a good batsmen but coach……… time will tell……
vb, you need to get rid of your small thinking…coach should be one such who is mentally tough, and can make the indians more competitive & tougher..It’s not about being Indian, Australian, South african etc…we sure hell need, because that’s where ultimately our weakness lie…recent test series is a good example…even though Pakistan was stuggling from a injury problems, they still pulled out a draw-match, which should have easily been won by us…this has heppened many times in the past as well, one or two players/bowlers turn the entire match/series in their nations’ favor…we need to develop a killer instinct like australians, and learn to roll over oppositions…but our weak mentality has laid us down after winning the first match….so again, it’s not about Indian or any other, it’s about picking someone who is familiar with these type of conditions…
