In the past two days cosmopolitan Mumbai has witnessed ugly parochialism. Political mobs loyal to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray targetted North Indians on the streets, taxi drivers were attacked and their taxis are burnt, passengers on trains were roughed up and even Amitabh Bachchan’s residence came under attack, only because the victims hail from North India.
Are North Indians still outsiders in Mumbai? That was the question discussed on CNN-IBN show Face the Nation conducted by Sagarika Ghose.

I wanna just go beat the Mfckr Raj Thackeray .. These kinda politicians should be outrightly banned from politics. EC should take a stern action on this party. Innocent poor people are beaten death .. and .. What the hell is Govt doing there?

This is not done. If Mumbaikars dont want people from another state in their city, they should also accept that someday it could happen to their own people in other states as well. For ex, actor Rajnikanth is a Maharshtrian by birth and he has settled in Tamilnadu due to professional reasons. I have never seen anyone trying to throw him out of TN.Lots of people from the west and north are now settling down in the Hitech city Hyderabad owing to the boom in software industry, are they being thrown out ? If we cannot tolerate people from our own country, is there a point in calling ourselves a secular nation and sovereign nation?
Its a very shameful act. I personally am an ardent fan of the city and think thats its a very safe city for anyone and everyone. But I guess acts like these will change opinions of many people like me.

divide and rule, this farmula was given by british,very sucesful formula, and adapted by congress party, they use it sucessfully,after getting freedom from british. they divided India in to hindu,musilum,upper class hindu ,lower class hindu and langu.state division thats why now adaptig all political partys ,this formula .you can see now in bombay ruling party is congress.in the center congress.they like to divide country.i think all people of india should think and unite against this, otherwise in no time Gajani or Baber will come back to make you salave, be alert.please please please stand up against this kind of leaders who is trying to break your uniti. respect your freedom. ****raj

being a mumbaikar myself i think this is pure injustice.
politics was always considered a dirty game but now its getting much more filthy and messy. i dont understand what mr. thakrey and family wants? only maharastrains in mumbai??? most of the top notched people in mumbai are not maharashtrains. Mumbai is running successful in the economic world because of such people. If he drags every one out he’ll be left with no one except rag pickers. I think its important for him to understand that outside india we are recognised as INDIANS and not maharastrains or north indians or south indians..
its such a pity that a wonderful place like mumbai is in the hands of such dogs. Its high time they grow up……

Well as i saw in the news and read also in news paper , its ashame for india and specially for mumbai which is metropolitian city.
I would like to say only that RAJ THAKERY is like ‘ONE FROG IN THE WELL’ . like frog never see the earth more then wall of well. how come he can be a politician or leader of nation or maharashtra . how come maharashtra people will accepting him. who is only for maharshtra . its one new massage that he he will create a new country maharashtra in the future. because if he dont know how to respect the other state people then how come he will be national leader. its means he decided be forever FROG OF WELL.
As every one know BALA THAKERY nopthings got in his life more then live in well as frog. so RAJ Thakery also following the same path. but still i feel sad how come our youth still are stupid and did understaning the wolf dirty way.
and rely surprise that our central govt and our maharashtra govt not taking any action against him . i am sure that some one north indian if will be very frustate then Raj Thakery life will be very short. and he will die like when frog come out from well.

Who’s to say who belongs where?
What would happen if US citizens start targeting NRIs living in the USA the same way, or in any other country that NRIs live?
Haven’t we all been an outsider in some place, at some point of our lives? Is this the way to deal with almost any thing pertaining to differences?
Having said that, WHY do we even the conflict of Andhra and Telangana in our own state? Is this how it’s gonna be a few years down the line for our predecessors if at all AP gets the Telangana divide?

I know this is wrong. POOR people should never be beat. That is a cheap politics. There are different ways to stop the inflow.
For those who cry about secularism, do you see thousands of people coming to your state every day? do you see that your people
thrown out because bosses are not from your state? Live in MUMBAI for sometime and then think. Can you imagine Chennai or
Bangalore Muncipal corporations conducting their business in hindi? No.. right? then why some amar raj asking for BMC to
operate in hindi? Every state value their traditions and customs as well as language. Mumbaikars were always open to anyone
who came to them. Earlier it was not issue but now its too much
and height is people want to bend mumbai in their fashion. Mumbai is looted by everyone. See western railway stations. Boards
are in hindi, english and Gujrati. Why gujarati? Hindi is national language, english is universal language and Marathi is state
langauge.. right? So, ultimately everything in mumbai would go in hands of nonmarathi people.
When i was in school i saw a movie “zelamchie haak”.. it was shown that all boards in kashmir were changed from “India Overseas
Bank” to “Overseas Bank”. Indian flags were burnt. If you are indian and see indian flag getting burnt and indians thrown out
of india .. will you be happy? at least i was not.. i felt like taking one plane full of bombs and bombarding on pakistan and dying
for my country… same thing now.. mumbai is no more mubaikar’s… It’s not mumbaikars don’t want anyone else. They do and we respect each and everyone. But, then
you should also respect our culture and customs. can you expect a south indian restaurant to server only north indian food?
South indian restaurant need both dishes to server majority as well as they have to keep their south indian touch. But if tomorrow
a north indian comes up and says stop selling masala dosa and sell only chana -paratha will he be happy?
If i come to your house as a guest today and tell you tomorrow that don’t do “ayyappa pooja” and start singing “hanuman chalisa”
will you be happy? If i come to your house, i should respect your tradition and you should respect mine. You can not expect
me to sing “ayyapa swami” and i should not expect you to sing “hanuman chalisa”. This is like UP guys are trying to convert
mumbai into another UP.. which won’t be accepted. You are more than welcome. Come here, leave lavishly, earn whatever you want
but don’t try to convert us in the way you are… we don’t want another BIHAR here…
Maharashtrians are more patient. But when it comes to existence… they are the first to fight.. History itself says that…
Shivaji maharaj was the first to start “Hindu emperor” and fight against mughals… he did not start “Marathi emperor”….
Again, i strongly oppose the fights happening in Mumbai. Only poor guys are suffering which is not right. One can not beat
someone just because he is from certain region. this kinda of gundagiri is not good. This has to be tackled in a nicer way and i would
strongly suggest that put anyone who do such gundagiri in jail. But, also i respect the motive they have. May be the way they
are operating is not right but their dedication and survival is appreciablbe.

I am surprised with your knowledge about past. Amar Singh and Raj are past? requesting
BMC to be in hindi is past? FYI this FROG manages $25Billion Dollar IT Company and work
with major CEO’s in networking industry at least once in a week…
If your dictionary has only one word FROG (repeated at least 10 times in your chat), that’s okay and i don’t need to be angry
for that.
If you read my message, i am not saying people can not move. Indians are allowed to go and stay
whereever they want. But, only issue is when they try to change things and go against locals.
I am in US for more than 10 years and is citizen.. but wherever i go i am still looked as
Indian and i can not go outside my house and bring Ganesh and dance on the road… when you
are in rome you have to be roman and can not expect romans to be like you… this is where
the issue is and that’s why these people started protesting. Siting here in US and talking about things is different
than suffering it and then talking.
