From “Chak De” hockey to “Cheque De” hockey, the cycle is complete. Indian Hockey Federation’s general-secretary K Jothikumaran was caught taking money for offering a place in the Indian hockey team.
If match-fixing in cricket was the darkest hour of Indian sport, then the latest incident is arguably the biggest shame for the country’s sporting fraternity, leading a nation of skeptics to believe that an Indian cap is just a price tag away.
Sport was once the ultimate fraternity between the body and the soul, a doctrine where nothing else but only merit and ability to perform on the field mattered. But money, it is perceived, is the only matter that has destroyed this doctrine. This cash-for-cap expose shows just that. But the problem is not just limited to hockey. Please share your opinions. I used to be an sportsperson …i’m not at all surprised about this ,its not the national level ,but even at state and beat it even a intercollege level also i have seen this corruption happen…..
Its hard in India to take up sports as your career…the only thing you end up is with Hope ( just like me)…..true potentials are never identified .Even in our own mythology “Ekalavya”

Well before I write any comment on this..I would say this is really a good(or brave) work of the one who brought this out. But I would say there are lot many happenings this way which needs some attention. We people together can make those changes. He has resigned from his job. But do you think or can say that he is not going to take bribe again?This continues…so I feel a strict action should be taken to punish them so as nobody would ever try to think of it..I am not sure this may happen or may not…i am not even able to end the sentence
I can’t find words to comment on this..In present situation every one is just after money…The scenario used to be or should be prove your talent in any field may be sports,cinema,any other profession and later money flows depending on this…but now the scenario is money is the key point..Be it in any field try to get as much money as possible in short time..Similarly in this incident the person who is in power of selecting the players is making as much use of his position as he can to get money..as he may or may not get that chance again…Concern about country’s pride or people’s welfare are becoming just the words to use for making money..Unless the attitude of everyone changes..To begin with People in such a critical positions must feel from their inner soul to be honest and strive for betterment because their decisions will change the fate of aspiring sportsmen and the whole sport itself…Lets keep our nation’s pride ahead of money…
