Six Indians killed in Pennsylvania car crash (Misc.)

Detriot-Accident

Six Indians were killed when a minivan in which they were travelling to visit Niagara Falls spun out of control and crashed into another car in Erie County in the US state of Pennsylvania. The mishap took place in West Springfield on Saturday afternoon, police said. At least four of the dead were working with Michigan-based information technology firm Syntel Inc.

Police said just after crossing the Pennsylvania-Ohio border, the van flipped over and crashed into another car coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the minivan, Kaushik Deb, 26, a resident of Troy, Michigan was killed on the impact. Five of the six passengers were also killed. They were identified as Manoj Jharia, 35; Mili Jharia, 28; Nitin Agarwal, 29; Swati Agarwal, 25 and Shubham Choudory, 24. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said two of the people who were killed were thrown from the van. The other four were trapped in the vehicle, local newspaper Erie News Times reported. All were killed on the spot.

A friend of the victims, who was travelling ahead in another van, told the paper that a group of 13 people were going from Michigan to Niagara Falls for a vacation. Police said there was no apparent cause of the crash.

My Sincere Condolences to the families.
Guyz please drive safely take things slowly while you are driving, do not rush. Also, please avoid the mini vans they are hard to control in some situations and esp. if you are not driving them regularly.
A long drive is always fun but its better you plan your trip ahead of time and book you flight tickets in advance, rent a car at the destination and go around the near by places as you have alrady saved a lot of time by flying. The drives are tiresome and as you all can see its also risky.

If you still plan on driving here are some of my tips from my driving experiences. Having driven more than 100,000 miles in the USA i would say that you start early and take 15 min. brakes after every 2 hrs. The passengers in the car should not involve the driveing person a whole lot in their conversations and atleast one person has to keep a regular watch on the driving of the person. Check the Climate on the route to the destination, most of the people miss this, they just check it at the destination.
While driving on the interstate Do not swith lanes much and do not swith them hastily. If you see that you vehicle is for some reason going off the road do not pull it hastily on to the road, take it slow and slowly move you wheel away from the curb and always watch your Blind spot.
Hope, these help atleast one person.

my deep condolences to their friends and family!!!

Please follow the advice and drive carefully…When you are driving long distances always try to be on the far right lane to avoid the chance of head on collision especially in the night from the opposite traffic. Yu may be right but sometimes the opposite traffi may be lazy. Drivers negligence ruins the happy lives of everyone here and also back home.

My deep condolences to their families. I have driven through that road. Especially pennsylvania is full of hills. Minivan with full of people will have very less control compared to car. I advise young drivers to drive very carefully while going downhill and at the turns. I always keep my foot only on the break while driving downhill. A simple mistake can be very dear not only for the driver but to other innocent people travelling in the vehicle.

Following tips are very important to save lives.

    1. NEVER TALK ON MOBILE WHILE DRIVING. IF ITS
A MUST MAKE IT QUICK AND SHORT. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT DRIVING IN US IS A FULLTIME JOB, ONE MISTAKE - YOU HAD IT.

    2. NEVER LOOSE SIGHT OF THE ROAD BY SWITCHING
ON THE CD PLAYER AND LOOKING FOR SONGS AND
    THINGS IN GLOVEBOX WHILE DRIVING.

    3. DONT FOCUS ON ANY OBJECT FOR MORE THAN 30-THIRTY SECONDS WHILE FEELING TIRED ON INTERSTATE. THAT CAUSE HIGHWAY HYPNOSIS.

    4. DONT DRIVE AFTER ALCHOHOL.

    5. FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES 100% EVEN IF NO ONE IS AROUND AND ON EMPTY ROADS TOO. PLEASE REALISE THAT THEY ARE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. THIS WILL MAKE YOU EXPECT THE UNFORESEEN AND BE ALERT.

WISH YOU ALL SAFE DRIVING. THEY HAVE LOST THEIR PRECIOUS YOUNG LIVES TO TEACH ALL BAD DRIVERS A SHOCKING LESSON. MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN PEACE.
MAY GOD GIVE THEIR FAMILIES COURAGE TO WITHSTAND THE UNSURMOUNTABLE LOSS.

    SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI…

    GAUTAM
