Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper visited Mumbai on November 16 to formally invite Akshay Kumar to take part in the torch rally of the winter Olympics – which will be held from February 12 to 28 next year in Vancouver.

Only 15 International celebrities have been invited to Canada to participate in carrying the Olympic Torch, Ontario has been identified as a province to have only one global celebrity represent the world and that celebrity is Akshay Kumar.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was engaged to Raj Kundra, a London-based millionaire businessman at his apartment here last evening. “I seek everyone’s blessings. Thank you very much,” said Shilpa Shetty.

The 34-year old actress was seen wearing an exclusive creation of Manish Malhotra. According to reports, only family members and close friends were invited for this engagement ceremony. Shamita Shetty, sister of Shilpa could not make it to the engagement ceremony as she was participating in the ‘Big Boss’.

Kambakkht Ishq is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actors Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora in supporting roles, the movie also features Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh in cameos. Originally scheduled to release in December 2008, the film was postponed due to extensive production work and is now slated for a release on May 29, 2009.
